About Highland Park Homes for Sale

Highland Park Texas is its own town located in the heart of Dallas between Central Expressway and The Tollway. Homes for sale in Highland Park generally list in the low $800,000s and go up to over $10,000,000.  Highland Park offers several different types of housing, ranging from single family living to attached single family (duplexes) to condos to apartments.  However, one bedrooms condos generally begin at least $200,000.  One bedroom condos are the cheapest prices of Highland Park TX real estate.

Residents in the town are served by the Highland Park ISD.  The town is zoned to the zip code of 75205.

Highland Park homes are known for their traditional looks as contemporary houses aren't popular within the town's boundaries.  However, over the past few years, contemporary houses have risen on new construction and custom builds. Buyers in Highland Park need to be willing to live close to their neighbors as there is often little space between houses. Houses may include features such as granite or black quartz counters, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, wine storage, a game room, and media room. Outside amenities also vary and could include a pool, patio, barbecue area, and sprinkler system.

The Highland Park Texas real estate market is pricey and ritzy enough to equally compare to any luxury market in the United States.  An article by Alyssa Abkowitz in the Wall Street Journal from May of 2013 called, Upscale Real Estate of Highland Park, Texas, Abkowitz details the good life of local residents in the Highland Park area of Dallas.  The article highlights several celebrities with ties to the Highland Park area including but not limited to Troy Aikman, Jerry Jones, Ross Perot Jr., Harlan Crow, Sam Wyly & John Muse.

In November of 2014, Troy Aikman listed his Highland Park Texas mansion for an asking price of $5.3 million dollars.  The listing details advertised the home as a total of 10,662 square feet with 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and 4 half baths.  The home has a pool, wine room, game room, media room, and an outdoor living area. The asking price was then raised to $5.95 million dollars before reports claim that Aikman eventually sold the Highland Park property for around $5.4 million dollars.

After selling the Highland Park home mentioned above, Aikman then turned around and purchased the Highland Park home of author Jane Wolfe for an estimated $4.3 million dollars.

Other notable current or past listings of Highland Park Real Estate include but are not limited to the following: the historic home of the late Dallas developer, Trammell Crow. Crow's 10,000 square foot home sitting on six acres of prime Highland Park Texas property listed for a whopping $59.4 million dollars in November of 2014.

In March of 2015, PGA Golfer Justin Leonard listed his 13,930 square foot Highland Park home for $15.995 million dollars.  Leonard's home was built in 2010, inspired by Mediterranean contemporary and has six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms.

In February of 2015, Highland Park home builder Robert Elliott started construction on a new development of sites in Highland Park for condos.  The site termed The Mondara will offer 35 units of luxury condos starting around the $800,000 range.  The community is located on Abbott Avenue sandwiched between Knox Street and Armstrong and will feature a different way of living not usually seen in Highland Park.
