Lewisville ISD Real Estate

Lewisville ISD serves Lewisville, Texas, Flower Mound, Highland Village, The Colony, Copper Canyon, Double Oak and portions of Plano, Carrollton, Frisco, Hebron, Coppell, Grapevine and Argyle. Lewisville Independent School District is the 94th largest school district in the United States and the 17th largest school district in the State of Texas.  The district has recently been rated by the Texas Education Agency as "Recognized."

As part of Lewisville ISD's "Recognized" rating by the Texas Education Agency, the district boasts 38 schools in the "Exemplary" category, 20 "Recognized" schools, two "Academically Acceptable" campuses and zero "Academically Unacceptable" institutions.

The district serves over 50,000 students with a staff of over 6,100.  Due to very rapid and expansive growth, Lewisville ISD received a bond package in 2008 totaling $697 million. The bond package was to allocate monies to be used in building new campuses, adding new technology to existing schools and general monies to keep up with the unprecedented expansion of the district.  However, the districts number of students has somewhat stalled in recent years meaning the monies are being reallocated to a handful of alternate education needs such as the $21 million dollar rebuild of Camey Elementary School.

In April of 2015, Lewisville ISD named Kevin Rogers its new Superintendent after Stephen Waddell's departure.  Rogers has a long history with Lewisville ISD including a stop as the Principal at Marcus High School for 15 years.  Lewisville ISD has a new buzz of excitement as Rogers was recently described by district spokeswoman Karen Permetti, "[He] has a record of bringing new ideas and seeking all stakeholders in the implementation process of whatever those initiatives or ideas are,” she said. “That was really what raised the level of his candidacy.”

With a strong fine arts program, Lewisville ISD students recently won two championships in the UIL's one act play competition.

New schools, a new Superintendent, 38 "Exemplary" schools, the strength of the athletic programs complimented with top fine arts programs, Lewisville ISD can be an appealing place for home buyers.  If you have any questions about real estate & homes for sale in Lewisville ISD, contact one of our professional Realtors and let us assist you in finding your next home within the school district.

Every year, the Lewisville Independent School District receives many academic accolades, finance awards, and honors in fine arts.

But there is much more to this award-winning school district such as:

Board of Trustees

Elected by voters, the Board of Trustees is responsible for making major decisions when it comes to curriculum, school policy, expansion, and expenditures. They must also submit bond issues and provide tax monies for both maintenance and operation.

Food Services

The Food Services staff serves breakfast and lunch at all elementary, middle, and high schools. Menus vary and may include a bagel with cream cheese, sausage kolaches, miniature cinnamon rolls, chicken nuggets, pepperoni pizza, and a fish melt sandwich.

Security & Safety

According to the Lewisville ISD, its comprehensive security program addresses prevention, intervention, student assistance, preparedness, building security, and emergency response. The program includes video surveillance in all school buildings, uniformed officers who provide both law enforcement and security services at all campuses and athletic events, and a Crime Stoppers program at Hebron High School that's designed to teach students a citizen's role in responding to and preventing criminal offenses.

Health Services

The District cares about the health and well-being of its students, which is why it employs school nurses who are responsible for performing mandated health screenings, knowing health trends at each campus, and making sure each child has the necessary immunizations.

Career & Technical Education

The Career and Technical Education department allows students to pursue an advanced education while gaining skills that are useful in the workforce. There are fifteen career pathways including Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources, Business Management and Administration, Health Sciences, Hospitality and Tourism, Law, Public Safety, Corrections, & Security, and Marketing.

Dual Language

At the elementary level, the goal of the Dual Language program is to help native Spanish-speaking students who are learning English as a second language, while the program for middle school students offers a continued language progression in Spanish.

Gifted & Talented

Lewisville ISD Gifted and Talented ProgramStudents who participate in the Gifted and Talented program will demonstrate skills in several areas such as self-directed learning, research, thinking, and communications.

Environmental Learning

This program allows students to make informed decisions and solve problems through interactive place-based learning. It takes place in a variety of natural settings and opportunities include "More than a Walk Outdoors" and enjoying a game of checkers outside.

Physical Education

The External Physical Education program is designed for secondary students who are working hard to gain higher-level skills in a sport. This means they can apply to receive physical education credit from an off-campus private or commercially funded physical education program. Qualifying sports include dance, equestrian, gymnastics, martial arts, lacrosse, and rock climbing.

Fine Arts

The Fine Arts program includes art, band, choir, drill team, music, and theater. Students have received honors such as All State Musicians and TMEA State Hone Band Finalists.

The Lewisville ISD supports several sports teams such as basketball, track & field, cross country, soccer, golf, tennis, volleyball, baseball, softball, and swimming & diving.

In recent athletic news, the Marcus High School girls cross country team won the 6A State Championships, while the Flower Mound High School boys cross country team placed third.

Extended Day Program

This after-school program is available to all elementary students in kindergarten through fifth grade. It operates from 2:50 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and children are provided a nutritious snack as well as time for playing and studying. Most campuses have space for seventy students, though the sites considered to be in high demand have room for eighty-four students.
