Southlake Carroll ISD Real Estate


Homes for sale in Southlake Carroll ISD price from approximately $300,000 to well over $5,000,000.  As the average list price is over $1,000,000, the area is known to locals as being one of the more luxurious areas of the DFW Metroplex and one of the top school districts within the State of Texas.

New construction properties for sale in Southlake Carroll ISD cover most of Southlake and portions of Keller, Colleyville and Westlake Texas.  The new construction generally falls in line with the other pricing of real estate in Southlake.  These properties are not cheap, as the district was recently ranked #1 in the State of Texas, so real estate within the district's boundaries is coveted and fetch prices on the higher end of the scale for DFW residential houses.

As mentioned above, many of the homes in Southlake Carroll ISD will list for over $1,000,000 whether they are located in Southlake, Colleyville or Westlake.  Westlake is generally the most expensive real estate in with Southlake second and Colleyville as the "least expensive."  Of course, when speaking in terms of  "least expensive," the Colleyville listings will also be expensive in the grand scheme of real estate pricing in the Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex.

Luxury Real Estate

Buyers in this price range can expect luxury and everything which comes with that luxury.  Most of the properties mentioned above are single, detached homes with larger lot sizes.  However, buyers may find that luxury lifestyle of zero lot line townhouses at The Garden District.

$750,000 to $1,000,000

Buyers in this range will still get that luxury feel they may covet from living within the school district's boundaries.  Within this price range, most of the local real estate will be found in Southlake.  Westlake homes are generally above the $1,000,000 mark so a buyer cannot expect to find much housing inventory in Westlake at this price point.

Buyers may find new construction within this price range in the subdivisions and developments of Carillon Estates, Shady Oaks, Highland Oaks and Teelwood.

$450,000 to $750,000

Generally considered the lowest price range to be able to get into Southlake Carroll schools, the price range of $450,000 to $750,000 will still get buyers very nice houses in, again, what is considered one of the top areas in Dallas - Fort Worth.  While most of the real estate in this price range will still be in Southlake, a handful will be located in the city of Grapevine but will be zoned to Carroll ISD schools.

The Carroll Independent School District has eleven schools spread out over twenty-one square miles.  

The district was founded in 1919 as Carroll School and served students from grade 1-9.  The district created an independent school district in 1959.  The district build its first high school in 1965.  The newest high school campus for Carroll ISD was constructed in 1992 which made the campus both a high school and senior high school.

The district is led by Dr. David Faltys, Superintendent.  Dr. Faltys has been the Superintendent of Carroll ISD since 2006.  He has been a classroom teacher, coach and principal and is a graduate of Texas A&M University.

The District is one of the highest rated school districts in both the State of Texas and The United States and serves children and families in Southlake and areas of Grapevine, Colleyville and Westlake with enrollment numbers of over 7,700 students.  It has a zero percent dropout rate along with a ninety-seven percent attendance rate.

But that's not all. Let's take a look at what else you might want to know about this highly rated district:

School Board

Seven men and women make up the Carroll ISD's School Board. Elected by members of the public, the trustees serve three-year staggered terms and board officers are elected every May. During the school year, the trustees meet on the first and third Monday of each month at the Administration Center located at 2400 North Carroll Avenue. The public portion of the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m., and parents and other residents are encouraged to attend.

Services & Transportation

The Child Nutrition Services staff plan menus that provide fresh fruit and vegetables daily as well as baked, grilled, or steamed foods only for children in grades PK-8. Menus vary and may include a grilled cheese sandwich, fresh-baked pizza, beef tacos, and spaghetti & homemade meat sauce.

School nurses who work for the Carroll ISD are responsible for promoting health and safety, as well as maintaining student health records, general medical conditions, and providing hygiene counseling. They also perform student hearing and screening tests, though they are not allowed to make a diagnosis or write prescriptions.

The librarians employed by the District are all State Board Certified School Librarians and State Board Certified Teachers. Each campus library promotes a love of reading, and part of the librarians' responsibilities include ensuring each student graduates as a critical thinker and competent problem solver.

The District's transportation facility sits behind Dragon Stadium, and bus drivers provide rides to all students residing within the district for a fee.

Advanced Academics

The purpose of the Advanced Academics program is to allow high school students to take college level courses while earning high school credit with the potential to earn college credit. Benefits for students in Advanced Placement courses include being better prepared for college, and those that earn a good score on their AP exam may be eligible for the Distinguished Achievement Program.

The World Languages program gives students a learning experience that will allow them to communicate in another language at a college-ready proficiency. Languages offered are American Sign Language, Chinese, French, Latin, and Spanish.

According to the District's website, the mission of its gifted and talented program is to provide an educational environment that recognizes each talented student's academic, intellectual, social, and emotional needs. In order to qualify for the program, students must demonstrate leadership, excel in an academic field, and have a high capability when it comes to performing in an artistic, creative, or intellectual area.

Students begin their fine arts education in kindergarten, and until grade five, they take classes in both art and music. Students in sixth grade can enroll in band as an elective, while those in seventh and eight grade continue their fine arts education through band, choir, theater arts, and visual arts. High school students participate in a more comprehensive program, and can compete in a range of regional, state, and national competitions. 

Carroll ISD also has a strong focus on the fine arts with five concert bands and three jazz bands.  The school district also has a prominent role in the choral program with three concert choirs and two show choirs.

Athletics

The Carroll ISD has several sports teams in which students can try out, such as football, baseball, tennis, volleyball, golf, swimming & diving, wrestling, track, and cross country.

Aquatic Center - At this Aquatic Center, community members can take swimming lessons, enjoy a  lap swim Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., or family/open swim on select dates.

Carroll ISD places a strong emphasis on athletics and the football program has won state football titles as a 3A school in 1988, 1992 & 1993. In class 5A, Carroll won four state championships in its first five seasons in the 5A ranks under coach Todd Dodge.
