Condo living is a completely different style of living than that of the single-detached homes packed into the Dallas suburbs. Most of the condo buildings in Dallas are concentrated in or near downtown Dallas and we are going to attempt to name our favorite buildings. The list below will range widely in prices and we believe will give a good sampling of the best condos buildings available to those wanting the condo type of lifestyle.
So, what are the best condos & condo buildings in Dallas Texas? This is a question we are asked often and it is only human nature to want the "best" available. So as local REALTORS®, we are going to attempt to name the "best" condos and condo buildings in Dallas with the idea of wants, desires and values for the buyer. Take a look below at what we think are the best places to buy condos for sale in Dallas (article continues below quick search).
Soco Urban Lofts, located at 1122 Jackson Street in downtown Dallas. This building is comprised only of lofts. A building which has been standing for over 100+ years, the building was originally used by the railroad and WFAA radio. In fact, you can still see the WFAA radio call sign at the top of the building...that's cool!
Remodeled to lofts for residential usage in the late 1900's, the building features mostly stained concrete floors with exposed brick, concrete beams, and HVAC ducts. The Soco Urban Lofts are one of the closest ways to live in a loft in Dallas similar to the styles one might find on other major cities. This building has a ton of character and residents love Soco for it!
The building has two-story penthouse loft units on the top floor and a swimming pool and entertaining area on the top of the building. Residents and guests of the residents love hanging out at the pool on the warm, summer weekends. Most of the residents are friendly and outgoing and the building is quite social.
For those wanting easy parking, the units are sold with a reserved parking space located in the underground, covered garage. Prices on the Soco Lofts can be found starting in the mid to upper $100,000's. The prices to buy a loft in this building are, frankly, a steal. If you like old architecture, loft living, and a social/fun building, you'll love the Soco Urban Lofts and this building definitely belongs on the list of the best condos in Dallas!

The Azure is newish, sleek, modern and classy. It has been home to several local celebrities. The location of the building places it directly in the Uptown area where residents may walk to some of the hottest bars and restaurants.
Standing 31 stories tall, the Azure was constructed in 2007 so it is one of the "newer kids on the block" and was built during the condo boom in and around downtown Dallas. The building is covered in a glass "skin" and built to very specific modernist standards. The architecture was spared no expense during the construction. As such, most of the units available for sale at the Azure will also reflect the clean-lined, modern design. If you love modern, this is your place. If you hate modern design, don't even think about the Azure.
Pricing on the condos at the Azure start around $500,000 for a one bedroom unit with approximately 950 square feet. Luxury units at the Azure run to over $3,000,000 with two to three bedrooms and square footage over 4,000 square feet.
The location, the beautiful modern design (if you like modern, that is), the glass work on the exterior of the building and home to local celebrities makes the Azure a must on the best condo buildings in Dallas!

We love the Drexel Highlander. It is just classy and refined with an architectural style we'd call "library-ish" (no, we don't think that's a real word). But, the building and the architecture do remind us of something you'd see resembling the expensive brownstones in New York City.
What's special about the Drexel Highlander building? Buyers will find stone flooring, traditional paint colors and schemes, open living areas, large kitchens, small balconies, fireplaces inside the units, awesome built-ins for storage in the units. These are cozy condos where you just want to curl up, light a fire and read a good book. They are "comfort condos."
The units were constructed around 2004, but the wonderful architectural design influences in the building make you feel like you are stepping back to top craftsmanship of the early 1900's. Better yet, the prices on the units at the Drexel Highlander start around the mid $500,000's and go to near $800,000...and these prices are for two bedrooms! Plus, as if the building needs anything else going for it, the location is near Highland Park and some of the best shopping in Dallas. How can you argue against this building not making the list of the best condos in Dallas?

The Mayfair is one of those buildings that both looks expensive and acts expensive. And, guess what...it is expensive. However, it is good to have an expensive look, expensive amenities, and an expensive location if the units are, indeed, expensive.
The Mayfair is in the heart of Uptown and the location cannot be beaten. It is across from Lee Park in Turtle Creek with plenty of nearby restaurants and bars within walking distance for residents. With prices starting at around the mid $800,000's and going to over $2,000,000, buyers will get one to three bedrooms and around 2000 to 5000 square feet per unit.
With the location, architecture, and prices, no way the Mayfair can be left off the list of the best condos in Dallas.

The Museum Tower in Dallas is 42 stories of awesome! Located at 1918 N. Olive Street near Dallas Arts District and Klyde Warren Park. The location is also on the outskirts of downtown Dallas and Uptown. If you work in downtown, want condo living and want luxury, the Museum Tower is one of the places to look.
Prices on the condos at the Museum Tower start at around $1,000,000 for two bedroom units and go over $2,000,000 on the three bedroom units.

It's the Ritz Carlton. The Ritz is definitely on the list of the best condos in Dallas. Need we say more? No, but we will anyway. The pluses of living at the Ritz - Uptown location, within walking distance to great restaurants and bars, walking distance to the American Airlines Center and Victory Park, and all the great amenities one would expect from the Ritz-Carlton.
Downside? The Ritz is expensive. But, that shouldn't surprise you. For most of the current listings at the Ritz-Carlton Residences, a two bedroom starting at 2000 square feet will run you close to $2,000,000. Again, this shouldn't surprise you. But, even with the price, there is no way we can leave the Ritz-Carlton Residences off the list for the best condos in Dallas...NO WAY! Chef Dean Fearing has a restaurant in the building!

Best for last? Maybe. Located in arguably the best location in downtown Dallas area, this Victory Park anchor is attached to the W Hotel and steps from the American Airlines Center and the Perot Museum of Nature & Science. This building is modern...and we mean MODERN! Fair warning, if you do not like modern architecture and design, stay away from looking at this building. However, if you love modern and contemporary luxury, this might just be your spot.
With Bliss Spa, an infinity pool surrounded by glass and a residence attached to a top hotel, this building is a definite for this list.
Prices on units at the W start in the mid $300,000's for one bedroom and range to over $7,000,000 for a penthouse with over 11,000 square feet surrounded by glass walls and amazing views of Dallas.
